Stuffed animals are piled into an open body. They lose their names, pressing into one another, forming a suffocating layer of skin. What once soothed and comforted begins to swell from within, becoming an excess of intimacy. The cavity is both entrance and wound. It retains the memory of being touched, entered, occupied, and repeatedly used.

The movement of the needle traces a path. Back and forth, entering and withdrawing. Each stitch draws out more that cannot be contained. Production does not stop. It shifts from the surface to the interior.

The children’s couch is split open. Softness retreats to the sides, exposing what has been compressed within. Red accumulates and flickers inside, like flesh repeatedly pressed and disturbed, or a geode in formation. What once held emotion does not disappear. It turns inward and begins to glow after being discarded.
